Summer Student Program

The summer student program is an awesome summer opportunity providing individuals with four months of hands-on experience and opening countless doors.

Each summer, Halton Region offers paid work opportunities to eligible post-secondary students. As part of our team, you will explore career options and gain invaluable hands-on experience in your field to help you achieve your future career goals.

Our Summer Student Program runs from May to August each year.

Eligibility criteria

  • Currently enrolled in full-time studies as part of a post-secondary program.
  • Returning to full-time studies in September.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada as a student.

  • Chief Administrative Officer’s (CAO’s) Office
  • Finance Department
  • Health Department
  • Legislative & Planning Services Department
  • Public Works Department

  • If you are selected for an interview, you will receive an email suggesting dates and times. Interviews will take place from February to March.
  • The employment period runs from May to August.
