- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- In possession of a Social Insurance Number at time of hire.
- You have graduated or will graduate with a recognized post-secondary degree or diploma, post-graduate certificate or diploma between January 2024 and June 2025.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for the supporting efforts and actions to advance climate change mitigation, adaptation, and sustainability efforts. We are seeking a highly motivated individual, ready to work with a dynamic team to help propel this work. The candidate will be part of a highly engaged and connected team. Learning tangible skills that advance climate response.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct research on issues that relate to climate change and sustainability.
- Support the implementation of a Climate Change Response Framework.
- Gather data, information and synthesize information.
- Prepare briefing notes, resource material as required.
- Conduct environmental scans and prepare summary reports.
- Respond to research requests.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Degree or diploma in climate change or a related environmental field.
- Experience with climate change initiatives.
- High level of awareness of climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies and the ability to translate the work to stakeholders.
- Excellent research skills and experience with GHG emission inventories.
- Ability to work independently and be an engaged team player.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong organization, presentation and analytical skills.
Preferred
- Experience with municipal corporate and/or community climate actions plans.
