  • You have graduated or will graduate with a recognized post-secondary degree or diploma, post-graduate certificate or diploma between January 2025 and June 2026.

 

Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Permits and Inspections, this position works alongside the full-time Permit Coordinator and deliver customer service to Public Works and permit applicants.  Responsibilities include providing information and issuing permits related to Municipal Consent and Regional Road Entrances. The position may also involve working on projects with various inter-departmental teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the Development Services Counter and phone extension by answering/routing queries.
  • Assist in managing the Permits mailbox, drawing searches, Permit Applications and general Permit and Public Works inquiries.
  • Assists with communication to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in managing the Municipal Consent and Entrance Permit application process.
  • Consolidating internal review comments on Municipal Consent and Entrance Permit applications, including resolving conflicts.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to permit applicants in a timely manner and ensures all required information is obtained for the permit including relevant insurance documents.
  • Assist with on-site inspections from time to time as required.
  • Assist with administration functions within the Department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Applied Sciences or another related field. 
  • Familiarity with construction, technical engineering knowledge, relevant standards, documentation and legislation are an asset.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills as well as strong problem solving and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in M365, customer relationship management solutions, and multi-media (telephone and E-mail) are required.

Working/ Employment Conditions

This position is required to be in the office full time upon hire, with the ability to transition into a hybrid role.
