Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing assistance to manage and support the delivery of Employment Halton programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages and supports the administration and consistent delivery of Halton Newcomer Strategy initiatives.
  • Ensures program /funder requirements are met and provide support to program management and staff in this regard. 
  • Provides assistance to management and staff to ensure cost effective delivery of the Halton Newcomer Strategy through ensuring initial and continued program eligibility and successful outcome reporting.
  • Supports efficient day to day operation of the Halton Newcomer Strategy Program through the identification, recruitment and management of internal/external relationships with stakeholders/partnerships, monitoring program outcomes, developing adjustment plans and implementing management recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Coaches, mentors, and coordinates the scheduling of student and/or intern placement staff.
  • Provides leadership and support to program and service technology used for ongoing delivery and outcome reporting.
  • Provides leadership and support to internal and external stakeholders and community partners, actively participating or looking to participate in the Halton Newcomer Strategy and other Programs/Services.
  • Manages and conducts standard program evaluations as required.
  • Compiles monthly statistics and related ministry reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services, Business/Commerce, Political Science, or a related field. A combination of relevant experience and equivalent education will also be considered.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience directly supporting programs within the public and/or not-for-profit sector or social services.
  • Computer skills with an understanding of technology solutions/applications.
  • Knowledge of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
  • Understanding of Immigration Policy and Settlement Services would be considered an asset.

  • Travel will be required; incumbent must provide their own transportation.
