Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Children’s Development and Family Support, this role provides leadership and direction to the Infant and Child Development team, overseeing occupational therapists and developmental consultants. The position is part of the Children’s Development and Family Support leadership team, working collaboratively with four supervisors.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide reflective supervision to a multidisciplinary team, including regulated health professionals, to support staff performance, case load management, program specific projects and team culture.
- Apply principles of adult education, coaching and knowledge translation for the purposes of staff development and supporting the mediator model of service delivery.
- Collaborate in program planning, development, implementation and evaluation.
- Manage case assignments and support monitoring and achievement of performance targets.
- Lead and support quality assurance of program outcomes through file auditing, project management and program evaluation.
- Network and collaborate with community agencies and stakeholders.
- Participate on internal and external committees.
- Participate in Quality Improvement and Risk Management activities by moving research/ evidence to practice.
- Support staff recruitment.
- Assist in the orientation of new staff, students and volunteers
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- A degree in a field relevant to early intervention and child development. Eg. Child Studies, Psychology, Health Sciences, Occupational Therapy, Nursing etc.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience working with children (birth to age six) and families, including complex family situations and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to provide early intervention for children at risk or with developmental needs, combined with prior supervisory or leadership experience.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills with the ability to work both in a team and independently.
- Advanced analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple demands.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office.
- Knowledge of relevant Acts and legislation, including but not limited to: Child and Family Services Act, Child Care and Early Years Act, Municipal Freedom of Information and Privacy Act, and the Personal Health Information Protection Act
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

- Travel within Halton Region is required and incumbent must supply their own transportation.
- Must maintain current, active registration with the appropriate regulatory college (e.g., College of Nurses of Ontario, College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario).
