To be eligible to apply for a co-op student position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada as a student.
  • In possession of a Social Insurance Number (card) at time of hire.
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution on a full-time basis and returning to school upon completion of the co-op work term(s).

 

This position will require the successful incumbent to provide proof of co-op eligibility, a transcript and tax credit form(s) from their school’s co-op department.

Job Summary

We are seeking a co-op student to complete a twelve-month term from May 2024 – August 2025 working 35 hours per week. 

 

Reporting to the Senior Project Advisor of Engineering Management Office within Engineering and Construction division, this position provides support in the delivery of Regional infrastructure projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Contract Administrators and Construction Ambassadors with documentation of end-to-end project delivery processes and policies
  • Performs data collection and analysis and support the development of process performance dashboards
  • Conducts background research as required
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects
  • Assists in preparing  procurement documents for construction contracts
  • Conduct construction site visits as required
  • Attends project management meetings and group management meetings
  • Assists in preparing meeting agendas and minutes, managing assigned project tasks and project files
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent program
  • Demonstrated skills in MS - Office - Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently & within a team
  • Strong time management skills, be able to manage work flow in order to complete work on time and as expected, and if required, the ability to work remotely from home

Working/ Employment Conditions

Working Conditions:

  • Travel will be required between office locations within Halton Region.  The incumbent must supply their own transportation.
