  • Legally entitled to work in Canada as a student.
  • In possession of a Social Insurance Number (card) at time of hire.
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution on a full-time basis and returning to school upon completion of the co-op work term(s).

 

This position will require the successful incumbent to provide proof of co-op eligibility, a transcript and tax credit form(s) from their school’s co-op department.

Job Summary

We are seeking a co-op student to complete a twelve-month term from May 2026 – April 2027 working 35 hours per week. 

 

Reporting to the Manager of the Engineering Management Office within the ECTM division, this role contributes to Data and Information Management efforts enabling the delivery of regional infrastructure projects.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the creation and maintenance of a Data Dictionary for the ECTM division to ensure consistent definitions and data standards.
  • Assist with the design, development, and upkeep of digital dashboards using Power BI and SharePoint.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze project and performance data including schedule, cost, resources, and KPIs.
  • Maintain and update EMO reporting tools such as Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, and other project management systems.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reports and dashboards used for decision-making.
  • Support trend analysis and assist in preparing insights and summaries for leadership and governance reviews.
  • Assist in tracking engineering projects, milestones, schedules, and deliverables across the portfolio.
  • Coordinate with project teams to gather updates, clarify data gaps, and follow up on reporting requirements.
  • Provide general analytical and administrative support to the EMO Manager on portfolio management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Computer Science, Data Science,  Business Management, Engineering or equivalent program
  • Understanding of Microsoft SharePoint and Power BI will be an asset
  • Demonstrated skills in MS - Office - Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently & within a team
  • Strong time management skills, be able to manage workflow in order to complete work on time and as expected, and if required, the ability to work remotely from home

Working/ Employment Conditions

Working Conditions:

  • Travel will be required between office locations within Halton Region.  The incumbent must supply their own transportation.
