Job Summary
This position is responsible for the data, administrative and financial duties related to the delivery of Halton’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project & on-going water meter maintenance programs.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves daily meter work order interfaces errors.
- Reconciles meter asset data discrepancies between IPS and the Region’s Water Billing Databases.
- Investigates stale meter install permits – follows up with applicant as needed.
- Schedules field personnel for investigations via Outlook appointment calendars.
- Communicates with external contractors/ vendors working on behalf of the Region.
- Liaises with other departments in the Region when required to troubleshoot water meter and billing issues.
- Responds to alerts and alarms from the Region’s AMI system related to irregular consumption– follows up with customer as needed.
- Coordinates with Legal services and GIS to set up new subdivision group projects in IPS – ensuring that all financial details are properly recorded.
- Supports in the resolution of Return to Utility tasks for AMI project.
- Runs various financial and work order status reports for month-end and year-end reconciliation of meter assets and revenues.
- Generates purchase orders and processes invoices for payment via the SAP Maintenance Management System.
- Documents processes & procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business with at least two (2) years' experience in a data & administrative environment and experience with water meters.
- Experience in Municipal Water distribution/Wastewater collection operations.
- Proficient computer skills using standard office business solutions software.
- Demonstrated initiative and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, teamwork and customer service skills.
