To be eligible to apply for an intern position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • In possession of a Social Insurance Number at time of hire.
  • You have graduated or will graduate with a recognized post-secondary degree or diploma, post-graduate certificate or diploma between January 2024 and June 2025.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process or upload General Ledger journal entry transactions.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly reconciliations.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly reports for management and financial statements and notes.
  • Assist with the processing of Tangible Capital Assets transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of various Federal, Provincial financial Schedules, and municipal reporting.
  • Prepare working papers and other documentation as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Undergraduate degree in Business/Finance with a major in Accounting.
  • Sound knowledge of general accounting and auditing procedures such as: balancing and reconciling of accounts; payment processes; financial statement preparation; financing; budgeting; and general financial controls.
  • Capable of planning and implementing work in an organized manner and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, financial analysis and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail
  • Time management skills with the ability to manage workflow in order to complete work on time and as expected.
  • Be self-motivated, capable of working in a team environment and independently.

 

Preferred

  • Enrollment in a CPA program.
  • Knowledge of enterprise based financial systems.
