- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution on a full-time basis and returning to school in the fall of 2026.
Job Summary
This role is responsible for supporting Halton Region’s Climate Change Response and Sustainability initiatives through research on related topics.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct research on issues that relate to climate change and sustainability
- Support the implementation of a Climate Change Response Framework
- Gather data, information and synthesize information
- Prepare briefing notes, resource material as required
- Conduct environmental scans and prepare summary reports
- Respond to research requests
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Enrolled in a post-secondary program that supports climate change response and sustainability from a municipal perspective
- Excellent research, written communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be analytical, organized, and resourceful
Preferred
- Experience in matters related to climate change adaptation, mitigation, and municipal governments
- Strong data analytics, political acuity, and proficiency with the Microsoft Suite
- Studying Environmental Policy, and/or Climate Change
