Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Vaccine Management & Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program, this position will provide leadership, supervision and support to staff delivering the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP), as required by the Ontario Public Health Standards, associated oral health protocols and the Health Protection and Promotions Act.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision, support, coaching, and performance management to OSDCP staff, to support the achievement of team and program goals.
  • Recruit staff in collaboration with other members of the management team.
  • Provide support, consultation and direction regarding complex cases, ensuring adherence to the OSDCP fee guide.
  • Monitor and analyze service levels and performance indicators to assist the Manager in evaluating program performance.
  • Monitor team budget under direction of Manager.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of services/projects to address program and service issues. 
  • Oversee quality assurance initiatives to improve program efficacy and efficiency.  
  • Provide oversight of Service Level Agreements with oral health providers and ensure that new agreements are established as required.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, protocols incorporating evidence-informed practices.
  • Participate on divisional, departmental, interdepartmental, corporate and community committees as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in public health, health administration, or a health-related program.
  • Recent experience in public health.
  • Possess a blend of clinical expertise in oral health, project management, leadership and customer service excellence.
  • Achievement oriented with strong organizational, time management skills, and excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Able to actively inspire, influence, and motivate a diverse team with a confident and positive manner.
  • Strong computer literacy with Microsoft Office and M365 tools.

 

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in health, administration, or other relevant area.
  • Current registration with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario.
  • Previous experience working within a Public Health Dental program.
  • Dental office experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
