Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Water and Wastewater Stations, this role is responsible for developing and maintaining the Work Order Management System (SAP) to support the delivery of preventative maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) programs. These activities include: developing and maintaining annual programs, developing PM and CM procedures, scheduling and tracking operation and maintenance activities, entering data into SAP and producing and analyzing periodic maintenance management reports.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Computerized Maintenance program SAP to provide for full operation and maintenance programs to Regional Water and Wastewater Stations and assets.
  • Administer the preventative maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) programs through the creation, revision, distribution, and posting of PM Plans and associated Work Orders. 
  • Develop and maintain the PM and CM procedures for use by Stations staff.
  • Assist in the development of the current annual budget, routine/ad-hoc reporting and program analysis. 
  • Assist in maintaining data for Asset Management, Client and Project records and updating SAP. 
  • Prepare information on the strategic development of the lifecycle analysis of system components, relating to: capital replacement plan, regulatory issues, and environmental issues, sustainability of the assets, and preventative maintenance. 
  • Interact directly with Superintendents, Team Supervisors and Regional clients to ensure that repairs are completed to their satisfaction and in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Prepare and prioritize PM routines and schedules with related stakeholders.
  • Monitor and track the cost of PM/CM activities performed by Regional staff and contracted services.
  • Conduct program audits to validate data inputting and provide lifecycle repair and replacement forecasts. 
  • Recommend modifications or enhancements to the PM and CM systems in order to improve effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical degree or diploma combined with a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in water and wastewater stations operations and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of preventative/predictive maintenance procedures, development of maintenance standards and scheduling, Ontario Regulation 170/03, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Experience in maintenance program management, project management, specifications writing, contract support and administration and tendering processes.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office and/or other SAP software.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, problem solving and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Working/ Employment Conditions

  • Candidate may be required to travel between Halton Regional sites.
