To be eligible to apply for a summer student position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada as a student.
  • In possession of a Social Insurance Number (card) at time of hire.
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution on a full-time basis and returning to school in the fall of 2026.

Job Summary

This role is responsible for supporting the development and continuity of emergency plans.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and management of emergency management plans
  • Coordinate and support client business unit meetings and communication.
  • Maintain organizational repository of draft and approved emergency management, strategies and continuity plans
  • Ensure emergency management plans remain current and incorporate current best practices
  • Support the analysis, development and maintenance of emergency management plans. .
  • Support the development and delivery of training, exercises and presentations on emergency management.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Strong attention to detail, ability to document emergency plans and business processes, demonstrated oral, written, analytical and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Visio, Word is required.

 

Preferred

  • Experience with municipal emergency management tools and practices as well as under graduate or post graduate emergency management education is preferred.

  • Travel will be required, incumbent must provide their own transportation. The incumbent will be required to provide a copy of their driver’s license by their first day of employment.
