- You have graduated or will graduate with a recognized post-secondary degree or diploma, post-graduate certificate or diploma between January 2025 and June 2026.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning & Health Budgets, this position will support the Budgets & Tax Policy division throughout the annual budget process through the coordination and consolidation of information, models, tables, and text. This position will also support the variance reporting process and assist with other financial analysis as required.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the development of the annual budget including updating models, formatting tables, consolidating data, and editing and proof-reading the Budget & Business Plan.
- Assist with the variance reporting process including consolidating data, supporting Financial Analysts in program reviews and preparing financial analysis.
- Prepare analysis to assist with year-end tasks.
- Undertake financial analysis related to Regional programs and special projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Economics or Accounting.
- Knowledge of general accounting and auditing procedures such as: balancing and reconciling of accounts; payment processes; financial statement preparation; financing; budgeting; and general financial controls.
- Experience planning and implementing work in an organized manner and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, financial analysis and problem solving skills, including attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills and able to manage work flow in order to complete work on time and as expected.
- Intermediate/Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) with an emphasis on Excel.
Preferred
- Knowledge of enterprise based financial systems. Experience with SAP management information system would be an asset.
