Job Summary

Reporting to the Production Kitchen Nutrition Services Supervisor, the Driver Position delivers prepared menu items to all clients of the Production Kitchen.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform daily truck safety inspections and document results on inspection logs. Provide completed inspection logs to the Production Kitchen Nutrition Services Supervisor.
  • Transport Cambro carts from the production area to the truck and secure for shipment.
  • Validate that the internal temperature of the delivery truck box is between zero to four degrees Celsius prior to beginning delivery.
  • Document internal truck box temperatures at the start and throughout delivery. Inform the Production Kitchen Nutrition Services Supervisor immediately of any temperature variations.
  • Deliver Cambro carts to respective long term care clients and Adult Day Programs, following any delivery requirements at each location.
  • Report any truck damage or abnormal driving conditions to the Production Kitchen Nutrition Services Supervisor.
  • Arrange regular maintenance of the delivery truck including refueling and repairs.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly cleaning assignments.
  •  Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Secondary school diploma.
  • Class G driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of Fleet Vehicle Driver Program training.
  • Current Food Handling certificate.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

 

Preferred

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Physical demands that includes lifting and working in cold environmental conditions.

 

Employment Conditions

  • Current (obtained within the past six (6) months), original and acceptable Criminal Records Check, including Vulnerable Sector Screening by the first day of employment.
  • Current (obtained within the past six (6) months) two-step tuberculosis test or Quanti-FERON-TB Gold plus test by the first day of employment.
  • Candidate must provide a driver's abstract prior to their first day of employment.
