To be eligible to apply for a co-op student position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada as a student.
  • In possession of a Social Insurance Number (card) at time of hire.
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution on a full-time basis and returning to school upon completion of the co-op work term(s).

 

This position will require the successful incumbent to provide proof of co-op eligibility, a transcript and tax credit form(s) from their school’s co-op department.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Supervisor, Customer Response and Outreach, this role is responsible for completing analytical and administrative tasks to support the Customer and Response Outreach team , as it relates to the delivery of Halton's Public Works Water and Wastewater program and services. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collect information from internal and external stakeholders to help analyze existing Water and Wastewater Services’ processes and programs to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor and analyze customer data from multiple data sources to identify correlations and patterns and to make recommendations to improve customer communications and water and wastewater processes, programs or services
  • Assist with business process mapping of internal Customer Response and Outreach processes
  • Prepare presentations and graphs
  • Support Water and Wastewater program content updates for website as required
  • Attend and support Halton’s Annual Children’s Water Festival and other community-based initiatives
  • Conduct outbound calls and receive inbound calls, as it relates to residents and businesses water and wastewater services
  • Close Service Requests and Work Orders as required
  • Prepare letters and other printed materials for residents and businesses
  • Prepare meeting agendas, and record meeting minutes as required

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

 

  • Analytical skills with the ability to monitor and analyze data and identify correlation and patterns
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as member of a team

 

Preferred

 

  • Past experience with MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, MS OneNote, MS Teams.
