To be eligible to apply for a co-op student position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Legally entitled to work in Canada as a student.
- In possession of a Social Insurance Number (card) at time of hire.
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution on a full-time basis and returning to school upon completion of the co-op work term(s).
This position will require the successful incumbent to provide proof of co-op eligibility, a transcript and letter/tax credit form(s) from their school’s co-op department.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Supervisor - Service Desk, this position will be responsible for providing technical support to all clients across many regional facilities. This positon is onsite and provides support assistance for software and hardware problems. Logs, monitors, resolves and escalates calls using the Service Desk software application.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides on-site, in-person technical support to all clients throughout many Regional offices.
- Provides first level support for all hardware and software problems via phone, email, and in-person.
- Works on-site/in-person daily to troubleshoot and repair computer hardware, printers and peripherals.
- Supports all mobile hardware, iPad’s cell phone, software, and associated wireless infrastructure including Citrix and VPN.
- Sets up, configures, installs software on and tests new and reallocated computers.
- Performs hardware moves and roll-outs, ensuring that proper inventory control procedures are followed.
- Logs, monitors, resolves and escalates calls using the Service Desk software application (HEAT).
- Maintains network accounts and Exchange accounts using Active Directory and Exchange.
- Provides expertise in the Microsoft Office 2016, Office 365, Zoom and Teams.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Registration in a Computer Science, or Technology related program at an accredited university or college.
- In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016 and O365 Suite.
Preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange.
- Knowledge of Computer and mobile hardware devices and wireless technologies.
