Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Project Management Office (PMO) this position is responsible for providing support to the PMO team in managing the digital initiatives for Halton Region. The role will support efficient project execution by providing high-quality project management support and activities, including managing digital project portfolio reporting / system, project activities, coordination of resource (technical & business) requirements such as training assignments, testing schedules, as well as other project management related exercises. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Administration:

  • Support The Project Management Office and Manager.
  • Support PMO Digital Portfolio Reporting dashboard ensuring accurate information updated weekly.
  • Manage resource vacation schedules/calendar highlighting risks to project activities.
  • Manage Project Management Tool license assignments with technical partners and vendors.
  • Maintain PMO SharePoint site repository (templates, version control, etc.).
  • Manage Action tracking in Project Management tools such as Eclipse, JIRA, Teams, Project Planner, etc. for assignments.

 

Testing Coordination:

  • Manage technical resources involved in testing activities, including timeline for resource allocation across functional group, login support, system access and schedule for digital initiatives.
  • Ensure adequate resourcing available for project phases and / or identify risks to resource constraints.
  • Evaluate Documents and ensure quality standards are adhered to.
  • Review testing standards and templates ensuring quality standards and usage.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential: 

  • The successful candidate will have a diploma / degree in Information Technology or related discipline
    Certifications PMI CAPM, or related.
  • In depth knowledge of IT Project management methodologies (Lean, Agile, etc.).
  • The candidate must possess strong presentation and oral/written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Teams, Power  BI, and JIRA.
  • Experience working within a PMO.
  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills.
  • The candidate must also have strong relationship management skills, be adept at managing several tasks atone time and be committed to working in a team-based environment with a focus on continuous improvement and quality customer service.

 

Preferred: 

  • Previous exposure to technology projects is considered an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in a municipal or other government setting.

Working/ Employment Conditions

Hybrid, minimum 3 days per week in office.
