Job Summary
Reporting to the Supervisor, Enterprise Applications, this position will play a key role in leading implementation of SAP HCM/Payroll system enhancements, software updates and upgrades like SAP Support Pack and CLC updates as part of State of Good Repairs program to ensure that the software application is up-to-date. This position will also participate in system implementation and support for SuccessFactors HCM application modules.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead technical implementation of projects, including software acquisition, system planning, development, integration, hardware sizing, installation, testing, documentation, and training.
- Gather and analyze business requirements, prepare effort estimates, and develop functional and technical specifications.
- Design, configure, customize, and maintain SAP ERP (ECC/S4HANA) HR/Payroll systems, including wage types, schemas, rules, info types, and time management components.
- Ensure accurate payroll processing, compliance with statutory and tax regulations, and integration with Finance (FI/CO) and Time Management (PT).
- Provide functional and technical support for SAP HCM Payroll, troubleshoot issues, and implement efficient solutions.
- Manage multiple assignments, including ongoing application support, maintenance, and system upgrades (Support Packages, CLC, Year-End Notes).
- Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and contractors to implement approved changes and deliver projects.
- Prepare user documentation, training materials, and conduct end-user training.
- Participate in solution evaluation, RFP processes, product/tool research, and User Acceptance Testing.
- Monitor system resource utilization, perform capacity planning, and advise on policy/procedure changes related to IT implementations.
- Develop and customize applications and reports using appropriate software tools.
- Provide 3rd-level support for existing applications and ensure minimal impact of changes across systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Minimum eight (8) years' experience working with SAP HCM, with at least 5+ years in Canadian Payroll.
- Strong understanding of Payroll processes including retroactive accounting, and statutory compliance (CRA, CPP, EI, Income Tax, etc.).
- Hands-on experience in SAP Payroll configuration and support (mandatory).
- Experience in schema, PCR, wage type configuration and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical, software development background and technical skills in following areas:
- Training, Timesheet modules and HR Authorization, HR ad-hoc reports
- SAP products to non-SAP products integrations
- Leading SAP ERP project implementation
Preferred
- SAP ERP HCM related certifications.
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM related certifications.
- SuccessFactors Employee Central, Time and Attendance and On-boarding.
- Knowledge of using Gold Client software from Qlik.
- Experience working with SAP SuccessFactors LMS and Recruitment modules.
