Job Summary

Reporting to the Supervisor - Service Desk, this position will be responsible for providing technical support to all clients across many regional facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site, In-Person support for computers, printers and peripherals, requiring travel to multiple locations throughout Halton region.
  • Support all mobile hardware (Ipad, tablets, air cards, cell phones), software, and associated wireless infrastructure including Citrix and VPN.
  • Schedule, configure and rollout New Computer Hardware to all staff for a life-cycle upgrade and update CMDB asset management accordingly.
  • Perform hardware moves and rollouts throughout organization.
  • Regularly update asset management inventory to reflect organizational changes as well as employee status changes.
  • Log, monitor, resolve and escalate calls/tickets using the Service Desk software application (HEAT).
  • Maintain network accounts and Exchange accounts using Active Directory, Azure Ad and Exchange online.
  • Provide Av support setups throughout the organization where needed.  Attend and assist with regular Council meetings providing camera and Av Support.
  • Knowledge of Crestron control panel, Roland and Epiphan pearl equipment used for audio video control, familiar with Panasonic and Sony video streaming and camera equipment.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support to various Poly studio and Samsung tv devices throughout the building.
  • Provide expertise in the Microsoft Office 365, Intune, Azure and Teams. Supports corporate applications including Web-based applications.
  • Organize and maintain a safe and orderly lab at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Community college/University diploma in Computer Technology.
  • Two (2) years previous Hardware technician experience and five (5) years’ experience supporting various hardware and software in a networked environment.
  • Knowledge of Computer and mobile hardware devices and wireless technologies
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows 11 as well as M365 and av equipment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM, Active Directory, Azure AD, Intune and Microsoft Exchange.

 

Preferred

  • Call tracking systems such as HEAT.
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices or ITIL certification.
  • Poly hybrid meeting room technologies
  • Knowledge of Crestron control panel, Roland and Epiphan pearl equipment used for audio video control, familiar with
  • Panasonic and Sony video streaming and camera equipment.

  • Flexibility in working hours will be required.
  • Must be able to perform all the necessary physical tasks associated with the position.
  • Travel will be required; incumbent must provide their own transportation.

  • The incumbent will be required to provide a copy of their driver’s license by their first day of employment.
  • The successful candidate will be made an offer of employment on condition that the Regional Municipality of Halton receives a current (obtained within the past six (6) months), original and acceptable Criminal Records Check.
