- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution on a full-time basis and returning to school in the fall of 2026.
Job Summary
This role assists with solving hardware and software issues for Halton Region employees.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides on-site support assistance for software and hardware problems. Logs, monitors, resolves and escalates calls using the Service Desk software application. Technologies Include:
- Microsoft Office 365
- Microsoft Windows 11
- Active Directory
- SCCM, Teams, Zoom
- Microsoft Exchange Online
- Heat Call Logging system
- Other Corporate Applications
- Supports, Repairs, sets up, configures, installs hardware and software and tests new and reallocated
computers for staff throughout the Region. - Troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
- Organize various technology department events.
- Assists in collecting departmental technology requirements and the coordination of technology
implementation. - Provides Audio and Video technical support for meetings held throughout the Regional meeting rooms.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Registration in a Computer Science, Business or Technology related program at an accredited university or college.
- In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Teams is mandatory. Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange preferred.
Preferred
- Previous experience with pc hardware, Microsoft Windows 11 and networked environments.
