Job Summary
This role maintain a clean and sanitary environment by supporting equipment care, food safety practices, and supply readiness.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Washes, rinses and sanitizes portable equipment and pans from the production kitchen staff.
- Cleans and sanitizes storage food processing areas, large equipment and insulated transport delivery cambro carts.
- Gathers and empties garbage and recycling for the area and transports / places them in the outdoor garbage and recycling bins.
- Monitors and records sanitizer levels to prevent bacterial contamination.
- Stores all equipment and pans in a safe and secure manner.
- Coordinates and prioritizes duties with other team members to ensure that all equipment is available for use as required.
- Accountable for handling food waste in a safe manner.
- Stocks food containers and supplies needed for food production.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Must have successfully completed or be enrolled in a Food Service Worker training program at an established college or registered private career college in Ontario along with a current Food Hander Certificate.
- Strong teamwork and customer service skills are required along with the ability to prioritize.
Preferred
- Experience working in a large quantity food preparation environment an asset as well as experience in a long-term care home.

- Must be able to perform all the necessary physical tasks associated with the position including lifting, pushing, pulling and handling heavy objects up to 50 lbs.

- Current (obtained within the past six (6) months), original and acceptable Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen, by the first day of employment.
- Current two-step tuberculosis test (obtained within the past six (6) months) by the first day of employment.
